JoAnne Hamilton

JoAnne and her husband of 47 years David N. Hamilton Jr., spent the early years of their marriage in Anchorage, Alaska, while Dave served his country in the Army Signal Corps.

After Dave’s service, they purchased their first home in SE Portland, raised their family of four children, and developed meaningful life-long friendships with many of their neighbors.

After raising her family, JoAnne began her professional career in Portland and moved to Roseburg, where she worked as business office manager at Mercy Hospital for 18 years.

Upon retirement in 1998, JoAnne and Dave moved back to Portland to enjoy their children and grandchildren.

Down to her core, JoAnne was sacrificial, full of integrity, and deeply and universally loved.

JoAnne is survived by her sister, Beth Ziebell of Tucson, AZ, four children, their spouses, fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, at 1:00 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, 520 W. Powell.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
