Jason Earl Swanson was born in Hood River, Oregon on April 9, 1983 to Jay and Sherry Swanson. He was raised in the Idaho wilderness, where his passion and appreciation for the wild grew. The Swanson's frequently visited the Columbia River Gorge where his love of salmon fishing began.
The Gorge was calling; in late 2002 Jason moved to Carson, Washington with his family. It was here in the Gorge, where his heart and soul belonged. Jason was known for being on the river fishing. He gave credit to his Dad for teaching him the trade and loved passing down the same lessons to his 5 girls; Lilli, Jamie, Abigail, Allie, and Maddie.
His girls were his pride and joy. He loved exploring the woods and rivers with them; playing games and sports; but above all he loved bear hugging them. They were his everything and he told anyone that would listen.
Jason didn't know a stranger and met some of his best friends on the river bank or wherever the wind took him; he had friends far and wide. He was always going out of his way to put a smile on people's faces; especially if it was going to end in a good laugh.
On February 17th, 2023 Jason was surrounded by loved ones when he was called home to the Rivers of Paradise.
Jason is survived by his five daughters, Lilli, Jamie, Abigail, Allie, and Maddie; Parents, Jay and Sherry Swanson of Stevenson WA; Sheila Hart (Sister) of Gresham OR; Johnny (Brother) and Valdeen Swanson of Kuna ID; Holly (Sister) and Jack Folk of Battle Ground WA; Beth Swanson (Sister) and Jess White of Stevenson WA; Joan Swanson (Grandmother) of Cascade Locks OR; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Rod and Virginia Duby, Paternal Grandfather Ronald (Swanie) Swanson, and fishing buddy (cousin)Luke Swanson.
While no funeral service is currently scheduled, a ceremony of life will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers The Jason Swanson Benefit fund has been set up to help support his 5 children at Riverview Bank, PO Box 10, Stevenson, Washington, 98648.
