Janice Marie Hill, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2017. She is survived by Frank W. Hill, her husband of 58 years, and her two children, Diana and Frank D. Janice is an Oregonian at heart. She was born in Klamath Falls on March 9, 1938 to Orrin and Charlotte Lien, grew up in Brownsville with her three sisters, and lived in Portland for the majority of her married life. She loved caring for and spending time with her family, including her nine grandchildren. Her mother's final years were spent in her care, and she will forever be a marvelous example of a loving daughter. Even the activities she enjoyed, sewing and genealogy, were centered around her family.
Janice was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For many years, she was a Sunday school teacher for both children and adults. She had a fervent belief in God and the plan He made for His children.
Janice is survived by her husband, Frank W. Hill; her children, Diana Basham (Rob) and Frank D. Hill (Debbie); her 9 grandchildren, Branden Hill (Amber), Ryan Hill, Austin Hill (Katy), Carter Hill, Emily Basham, Hannah Dudley (Stephen), Andrew Basham, William Basham and James Basham; her 2 great-granddaughters, Isabelle and Kaylee Hill; and her sisters, Sandra Madary (Chuck), Judy Gulliford, and Delores Campbell (Randy)
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 14th at the LDS Chapel on 3600 SE 182nd Avenue, Gresham, OR 97030. The viewing will be 9:00-9:45 am and the services will begin at 10:00 am. Janice's family wishes to express gratitude to the many people who have reached out to them during this time.
