We met Erik in January 1969.  We lived in the same apartment complex in Corvallis when we were going to Oregon State.  We clicked right away and had so much fun playing card games, going to sporting events, watching TV together and eating popcorn and going to the Beaver Hut!!  So many wonderful memories!!  Erik was hilarious, a great joke teller, a big Beaver fan and an all around great guy!!!!!Sending many thoughts and prayers to Cory and Chris and ALL the rest of the family. We knew Erik for many years! I first met him in 1964, and I introduced him to my husband in 1973. Our memories are many and so special! Our three daughters and Erik’s two sons have known each other all their lives! Our oldest kids are almost 50! We have a history! 
 The many dinners, celebrations, and holidays were made extra special because Erik was a part of them. I recall his expertise in barbecuing, especially steaks! He was also a talented carpenter!  He was a part of the laughter and fun when we went to Chinese and Mexican restaurants! He was part of memorable Fourth of July celebrations - rain or shine, Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties, and St. Patrick’s Day parties! Yes, he was  “Irish for a Day”.  He will be missed by many, but the Irish say that no one can steal our memories! We are blessed that he was part of our lives and that along life’s journey, he left us with some precious memories and treasured pictures in our photo albums!  Sending our prayers for peace and comfort to his family and friends.❤️🙏🏻 

When the tough got going, Erik got going!
 I will never forget Erik's commitment to family! He displayed it every chance our family challenged him to show us how to rise up and meet the need.  
He always showed up! In good times and bad.   But you always knew , with him on your side , you were going to win the battle!

He was an angel sent from heaven,  to make our family better. God bless him, and all of us who enjoyed living a better life because of him ❤

Here is Dad & I celebrating our birthdays together as we have done many times throughout the years. Our birthdays were 2 days apart so it was nice to have a special time of celebration together. He was 40 & I was 23 in this picture. I wish I had more photos of our special times. I Miss You Dad! Forever Loved & Never Forgotten! XOXO 

So sorry to hear Erik now has transferd to yet "another position"
I am sure we will all miss that mischievous grin!
I remember well when he worked for my brother Greg and I. 
He was most always upbeat, a bit of a practical joker,  and super intelligent. He was way into computers before we even knew what the heck they could do for us! Godspeed to you and your family!

Erick, you left us too soon.
So many great memories, too many to list.
I remember you helping out with all of our Christmas ship parties on the Columbia River. We could not have done it without you, to find out years later you did not like do all those veggie trays. 
Thank you for all the times you were there for our family, always with your smile. Always a champ, always doing for others, never complaining. Miss you so much. Rest in peace, my brother-in-law.

Thinking of the Sorenson family.  Erik was such a sweet person.  He was such an amazing dad and included Katie for many fun times with Kajsa.  Joanie, our hearts are with you.  ❤️ Pam & Dan Swanburg

Erik’s daughter, Kajsa, was one of my closest childhood friends and I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time at her house growing up.  Erik always, always treated me with warmth and kindness and was generous with his time.  I honestly don’t think he ever said no when we asked him if he would mind taking us somewhere!  He created so many fun memories and adventures for us and always made his famous Swedish pancakes for breakfast after a sleepover.  My very first “job” was helping him with a booth for Stockpot soups at a snowboarding festival.  I was thrilled to be given the chance to help and loved the Italian Wedding soup too.  :)  The thing I remember most about Erik is how much he loved his wife and daughter.  They were his whole world.  He was an amazing person and I will never forget him.  

How lucky I am to call you Dad.  You embodied kindness, had a deep well of patience and you always knew how to make me laugh.  I could not have asked for a better childhood or dreamed of a better Dad.  You had a gift of listening, taking the time to understand and offer thoughtful insight. Your use of a pros and cons list helped me navigate some of my biggest challenges and decisions.  A true salesman; teenage Kajsa often thought she came up with the best decision on her own, when truly it was a soft sell of your own careful guidance.  

You were unwavering in your belief in me and the life I could build for myself.  You instilled a confidence that I carry with me to this day.  I always knew you were in my corner; that you were my number one fan.  

We shared an undeniable connection.  Despite not being connect by blood, I believe you were always meant to be my Dad, and what an amazing gift you were.  Your loss feels immense, but every day to combat the grief, I focus on gratitude.  37 years with you leaves me much to be grateful for.

Erik and I worked together for a couple of years at Stockpot. I came to know him as a mentor - he was always positive, supportive, determined and willing to give his time when asked. He had so many great stories that made me laugh, I still think of some of them to this day. 
I know he loved his family and took pride in everything they did. He was also a proud OSU Beaver and enjoyed every time they beat the Huskies and the other team just south of Corvallis.

I met Eric when he and Joanie lived in St Helens, Or.  I introduced him to Kiwanis where he went on to be one of our best presidents.  He was a great friend who you felt comfortable confiding in.  I miss his friendship.

I loved our visits at Keizer Rapids Park. He always was so positive . I was so blessed to spend time with Erik, Joanie ,Richard and Jeannie and of course Stella and Greta. I picked Erik up a couple of times with the girls💗 he loved his dogs and family very much . Our thoughts and prayers are with with all of you. Hugs and love to you , Linda and Kermit Martin💕
