Clifford "Larry" Douglas

Clifford “Larry” Douglas passed away on December 27, 2019 in Newberg, Oregon. He was born in Halsey, Nebraska, on August 30, 1939 to Clifford Virgil and Mary Florence (Brinson) Douglas. The family moved to Oregon when Larry was two where he stayed the rest of his life. After graduating from Newberg High School in 1958, Larry joined the Army where he served for three years. After he was discharged from the Army, Larry spent most of his working life as a truck driver and landlord to the many rental properties he owned, taking a break in the early ‘80’s for five years to fulfill his dream of owning a ranch.

Larry met and married the beautiful Suzanne Vaughn in 1965. They raised two children – Mike and Brian.

Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing and clamming in his spare time with family and good friends. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who was always willing to help someone any way that he could. His great sense of humor and strong opinions will be missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his sons Mike (Amelda) and Brian, his grandchildren Jonathan, Natalie and Michelle and his sister, Eileen Harris, as well as many good friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W Powell Blvd., Gresham, Oregon 97030 at 11:30 AM on Sunday, January 19, 2020.
