Carol Anne Seagraves was born March 10, 1943 in Portland, Oregon and passed on April 22, 2024. With weak heart, she died suddenly without suffering. Kaiser life support allowed for some family visitation.
Carol enjoyed her family home near Milwaukie, helping her father with chores during their house construction and later the yard. After marriage to Lew Seagraves December 30, 1967, home was in the Multnomah and then Capitol Hill area before building on one of the Boring Lava Domes. Carol graduated from Cleveland H.S. and received a Master’s degree in Education at Portland State University, then taught business education at Beaverton High School from 1965 until retiring in 1995. She was steadfast on the 3 “R’s” and especially strong on grammar. Future Business Leaders of America and the placing of students in work/study jobs with local companies were part of her program. After retirement, Carol enjoyed gardening and house decor and her favorite Corgis.
She was proceeded in death by parents, George and Lillian Black. Survivors include husband, Lewis, foster son, Steven Shone, his ex-wife Mai Lee and their children, Billy, Ryan and Heather Shone, as well as Carol’s cousin, Gerald and wife Judy Dyke.
A graveside service will be held at Logan Pleasant View Cemetery, 15901 S. Springwater Rd, Oregon City, at 2:30 pm, May 2, 2024. Arrangements by Bateman Carroll Funeral Home.
