Warren Holcomb, 83, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Greenwood. He was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean and Vietnam Wars, 23 year retired Sebastian County Sheriff’s Deputy and attended Rye Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, September 24 at Rye Hill Baptist Church with burial at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 4 – 6 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Gattis Holcomb; two sons, Ron Holcomb of Alma and David Holcomb of Greenwood; one daughter, Pam Holcomb Christian of Fort Smith; one sister, Mary Rogers of Hackett; four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be James Christian, Justin Edwards, Blake Belcher, Duff Sturgeon, Gerald “Dickie” Holcomb and James Kaelin. Honorary pallbearers will be Sebastian County Deputies, both active and retired.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Rye Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, 11512 Old Hwy. 71, Fort Smith, AR 72916.
