Wanza Lee Gann went to her heavenly home September 2, 2023 in Greenwood, Arkansas at the age of 95. Wanza Lee was born to Henry Isaac and Bertha Starkey on July 3, 1928 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of three children. Her older brothers were Lewie and Leon. When Wanza was a teenager, her family relocated to Greenwood, Arkansas, where she met and married Billy Joe Gann. Billy Joe and Wanza settled in Greenwood’s Bell Addition and raised two daughters, Deanna and Sandra. Wanza was a faithful Christian and lifelong member of the Valley View Church of Christ, as well as a devoted mother and wife. Bill and Wanza were avid antique bottle and coin hunters and collectors.
Wanza was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill and both her brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Deanna Decroo and husband, Ed of Greenwood and Sandra McKinney and husband, Richard also of Greenwood. She left a legacy of six grandchildren, Leeann Gilliam and husband, Randy, Michael Johnson and wife, Stacy, John McKinney and wife, Rachel, Bill Wolfe and wife, Cory, Elizabeth Cribbs and husband, Ron and Coleman Gann and wife, Ashlee and her twelve great-grandchildren are Heather Foy and husband, Harrison; Conner Moses and wife, Shai, Aric McKinney and wife, Hannah, Devin Mae Hogland and husband, Jayson, Lexi Wolfe, Dallas Moses, Hank Moses, Tatum Johnson, Ronnie Cribbs, Shane McKinney, Grace Cribbs and Kenleigh Wolfe. She leaves two great-great grandchildren Haven Foy and Holden Foy.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 6 at Liberty Cemetery, Ware Road and Hwy. 96 in Greenwood under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 3 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
