I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Susan, I had the privilege of teaching Susan at Cook Elementary. Later I would see her at the clinic. She always greeted me with recognition and warmth and made me feel special. May God surround you and bring you peace and comfort.

I am from Rochester, New York and considered Susan my closest friend. We were only a phone call away. We were looking forward to another visit in the next couple of years, but that will have to wait until we meet again. 🙏🏼✝️💔

I always admired her strength and will, and ability to love with the deepest of emotion and loyalty. I think it's what we shared in common that made us such close friends. 💕💕 I love you very much and will always miss you, Susan. 💐🌷

I would like to extend my love, prayers, and hope to all of her families. Most especially I would like to extend my sorrow for this terrible loss to her husband, children, and Mama. I know that they will be affected the most.  Keep in mind that you will see your loved one again someday.  I know a heart as beautiful as hers will never be forgotten. 💜👼🏼💜

This is Susan in the middle.  I've known her since the mid 80's.  Stayed in contact with her off and on through the years.  Susan was very proud of her boys and had recently become a grandma.  She'll be missed.  Condolences to her family and other friends as there was a very big group of us back then.  ❤️

She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Jeff Godfrey; four sons, Spencer Godfrey and wife, Missy of Tulsa, Alex Petty of Fort Smith, Ethan Godfrey of Fort Smith and Jackson Petty and wife, Bridgette of Greenwood; her mother, Opal Cook of Anderson, SC; her mother and father-in-law, Jack and Charlotte Godfrey of Pocola; two brothers, James Cook and wife, Tammy of Churchville, NY and Michael Cook of Rochester, NY; four sisters, Edith Collier and husband, Vern of Walworth, NY, Tina Schoomaker and husband, Dennis of Anderson, SC, Kristi Knight of Anderson, SC and Kathy Jordan of Bradenton, FL; a sister-in-law, Amy Coppeans and husband, Chris of Tacoma, WA; two grandchildren, Ella Petty and Callie Terry and numerous nieces and nephews.
