Sam Martin, our beloved husband, daddy, pawpaw, great grandpaw, brother and friend passed on to his heavenly reward on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. He was born to Eula and Loyd Martin on July 6, 1941, in Milltown, Arkansas. He worked at Baldor Electric for many years and had great memories of his years there. He was a hard worker and always put in the extra mile.
Sam was a real man’s man with a heart of gold. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. His family respected him, loved him fiercely and will miss him so very much. Words aren’t enough to describe this funny, loving, sharing man. He loved anything motorcycle or car related and anything cowboy. However, above all, he loved the Lord. He was a wonderful Christian man, not perfect but strived to be the best he could be.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Joe. He is survived by his wife, Judy; daughters, Kim Martin and Cathy Thompson and husband, Ivan; sisters, Betty South, Ann Williams, Sue McGee and Johnie Martin and step-sons, Michael Cullen, Robert Cullen and wife, Alicia and Steven Cullen and wife, Kelley. He leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Jackie Hewett and husband, Todd, Casey Rainwater, Cody Thompson, Taylor Thompson and wife, Alora and Haley Thompson, along with ten great grandchildren and six step grandchildren. Sam loved all his children along with his nieces and nephews. He loved his little dog, Sassy, who misses him so much.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 18 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Dawson Cemetery in Milltown. Viewing will be Sunday from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

He can never be replaced in our hearts. Rest Well. We will see you soon.
