  Randie's obituary appeared in the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the local Worcester, MA newspaper last week. I wrote the following remembrance:

    I am deeply saddened to read of Randie's passing. In 1953 when my family moved to Water Street in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts,we met the Blunts,a wonderful family who had just moved to Lake Quinsigamond. Randie and his older brother Rockie became like family to us, and we shared many idyllic seasons, enjoying all that the lake had to offer: swimming, fishing, boating, ice skating, ice fishing, and water skiing.  Later Richard was born, and we called him "Rickie."
   My mother always called the three Blunt boys, her "adopted family." She loved them dearly, and they called her, "Mrs. Moe."
   I can still picture their dad Rockie coaching Randie and Rockie in swimming. I always marveled at the boys' swimming achievements, persistence, and rugged determination. 
    Happy childhood memories follow us throughout our lifetime, and Randie occupies a significant place in those memories. 
     I extend my deepest sympathy to his wife, family, and friends. And, in my wonderful memories of growing up together on Water St. and King's Point,  I thank God for knowing Randie, Rockie, Rickie, and their loving parents,  Rockie and Bea.
    May God's Grace Shine Upon Us All.

my history with Randie goes back 33 years at Liberty.  He was a manger in one of my first training classes...I still talk about that experience even now.  A great mentor, and a great guy to be with...he'll be missed.  Steve Short

Judy,I am so sorry for your loss. Randie thought the world of you. He had a great sense of humor and genuinely cared about the people who worked for him. Everyone here at Liberty Mutual has a great memory of those days.He is certainly rockin' in heaven!

To Judy and family, Randie was my boss for many years here at Liberty Mutual.
He managed his people in a lively and colorful way that left a distinct impression on the professional lives of all who worked with him. Many of my most amusing anecdotes featured Randie in the starring role. His memory will always live in our hearts and minds.

Randie, how do I say good-bye to someone that's been one of my closest friends for nearly 50 years; from the 9th grade at Worcester Academy, to our Rock & Roll Bands, summer vacations, adulthood, business careers, music endeavors - again, and now.
