Monica McAndrews Lahey of Greenwich, Connecticut, passed away at home on July 10, 2014, with loving family members and her close companion, Ed Wisdom, by her side. Monica, 83, was born to the late Patrick William and Ruth Pellegrin McAndrews on July 3, 1931 in Marshfield, Wisconsin. She was raised in Clinton, Iowa, before relocating to Westchester County, New York in 1960. She later moved to and lived in New York City for several decades before finally settling in Greenwich, CT in 1994. Monica began a long and distinguished professional career at HR Television in New York City in 1960, followed by a rise through the ranks at the CBS Television Network. She retired from her position as Manager of National Press and Affiliate Relations in the Spring of 1991. Following her departure from CBS, Monica, with long-standing friend Enid Moore, founded a start-up public relations firm, Lahey & Moore. The pair successfully managed the firm for the next ten years. Surviving are her two children, William H. Calnan and his wife Barbara, and their children Amanda and William of Norwalk, CT, and Laura Calnan Gunn, and her husband Philip D. Gunn of Greenwich, CT, and their children Oliver, of New York City, and Henry and Hilary of Greenwich, CT. Monica is also survived by her brothers, George McAndrews, and his wife Kathy of Barrington, Illinois, and Tom McAndrews, and his wife Peggy of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Monica was predeceased by her brothers Jack, Jerry and David McAndrews, her sister Virginia Clark and her infant daughter, Lisa Calnan. Monica enjoyed all things beautiful and glamorous. She enjoyed fashion, travel, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a passion for the arts and good food (especially cheese), as well as a sparkling sense of humor. A memorial mass will be held at St Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to St Mary Church.
