William "Bo" Ansel Leslie III, 72, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. William Ansel (Bo) Leslie III died on March 13, 2023. He was the loving husband of Beth Blackwell Leslie for 52 years and a wonderful father to two sons, William Ansel (Bo) IV (Jessica) and Charles Hale (Charlie) Leslie and grandfather of four: Bethany Leslie, Ansel Leslie, Siddhalee Leslie, and Bennett Leslie.
Born on September 19, 1950, he was the son of the late William Ansel Leslie, Jr. and Harriet Bozeman Farmer.
He was a graduate of Furman University with a B.A. in Business and member of the Furman Paladins Golf team that won the Southern Conference Championship in 1972. At the age of 16 he scored his all-time low score of 64 at Greenville Country Club’s Riverside Course.
An avid golfer since age six, he was consistently on the practice tee to improve his game, and was three-time Champion of the Greenville Country Club membership tournaments and participated in many Greenville County Senior Tournaments over the years.
A dedicated Christian, Bo was a member of Pelham Road Baptist Church. He was a former long-time member of Augusta Heights Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of Deacons and a teacher of Adult Sunday School classes. He was a real estate appraiser and broker, and owner of William A. Leslie Co. Inc.
Bo was a supportive, excellent husband and father, always striving to provide a good life for his family. He was the exemplification of a man dedicated to Christ, faithfully helping others in many different, quiet ways.
He is survived by his wife, sons, daughter-in-law (Jessica), and grandchildren all of Greenville, SC. Other survivors include his brother Lee Leslie (Terri) of St. Simons Island, GA; sister Harriet Jean Leslie (Sharon) of Stanton, VA; a brother-in-law, Tim Blackwell (Madeline) and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Bo will be held Thursday, March 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Pelham Road Baptist Church, 1108 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615 with a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Pelham Road Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
