Spencer was born in Sumter, SC, on June 29, 1950, to Scriven Spencer Brunson Jr. and Betty Lee Phillips Brunson.
Spencer is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lee. He is also survived by children Leigh Richardson (Walter), David Brunson (Jessica), and Suzanne Brunson, and five grandchildren, Janie Richardson, Mckenzie Richardson, Noah Brunson, Kyrah Sanders, and Nathan Brunson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ryan Brunson, sister Anne Thomas, and brother Phil Brunson.
Spencer graduated from Edmunds High School in 1968 and attended Gardner-Webb University. He was retired from Wickliffe's Ornamental Iron.
His hobbies throughout his life included hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He dearly loved his Carolina Gamecocks, but what he loved more was spending time with his family on annual beach trips and during family holiday gatherings.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15th, 2023, at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. Services will be held on Sunday, July 16th, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. also at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn.
