Phillip E. Posey

He was born February 19, 1939 to Wilton Posey and Evelyn Turner Posey, of Greenville, SC. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Nelta Powers Posey. He is survived by his daughter, Carol Adams (Greg Adams) son, Steven Posey (Jeanine Granere Posey), and grandchildren: Caleb (Autumn Jones Adams), Matthew, and Andrew Adams, Melissanne Butler, Alex, Kyle, and Abigail Posey, and great granddaughters Zaelynn Owen and Andy Adams.

Phillip was a 1957 graduate of Greenville High School, and a 1961 graduate of Furman University, majoring in Math, and minoring in Physics. He was retired from the South Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church in Columbia, SC, where he served on the audio-visual team and lighting team. Phillip was an accomplished musician playing both piano and organ. He loved all things regarding electronics.

The celebration of his life will be Sunday, August 13, 2023 at Siloam Baptist Church, 229 Siloam Road, Easley, SC 29642. Visitation will be from 1:30pm until 2:45pm in the sanctuary with the service beginning at 3:00pm. Reverend Troy Harrison and Reverend Garry Bowles will lead in worship. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
