He was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Ralph E. Thomas and Esther Kaiser Thomas.
Paul was a 1970 graduate from Ohio State University with a PhD in Biochemistry, worked for Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceuticals in Nutley, NJ for 17 years; was a researcher and professor in the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, The State University in New Brunswick, NJ for 25 years.
Upon his retirement in 2013 he and his wife relocated from West Orange, NJ to Greenville.
Paul professed faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, and we his family take great comfort in knowing he is in his eternal home.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Mark J. Thomas (Rhode) of Greenville; daughters, Ruth A. Gaspich (Peter) of Simpsonville, and Karen J. Thomas of Seal Beach, CA; grandchildren, Ashley, Charlene and Jonathan Thomas, and Peter and Jennifer Gaspich.
Funeral service Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mackey Mortuary; visitation Friday evening from 6 to 8:00 and Saturday prior to the service from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at Mackey Mortuary. Burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC.
