Patricia T. “Patsy” Riddle Greenville Mrs. Patricia Angella Tate Riddle, 81, wife of the late William Belton “Bill” Riddle, passed away Monday August 31, 2015 at Greenville Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Forest City, NC, to the late George and Marie Hughes Tate, “Patsy”, owner of Palmer School of Dance, had a passion for spreading and instilling the love of dance throughout the community. She was well known and loved (locally and nationally) by her students, colleagues, and their families. For 70+ years Patsy never turned a student away and was always willing to help those in need. She was a charter member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church but currently attended Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Aside from dancing, Patsy first and foremost loved God, as well as her family, food, and Clemson Football. She is survived by two daughters, Pandi Patterson and Courtney Haraway, both of Greenville; a sister, Sandra Tate Stahlnecker (Ed) of Greenville; four grandchildren, Jennifer Patterson Burdeshaw, Brooke Patterson, Claire Haraway, and Tate Haraway; a great-grandchild, Lily Marie Burdeshaw; a former son-in-law, Jeff Haraway; and two grand dogs, Cloey and Bob; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Sam Tate and Tom Tate. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, September 4, 2015 in the sanctuary of Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 P.M. Friday, prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Francis Asbury United Methodist Church or to The Wounded Warriors Project.
