Patricia McDaniel Daugherty

Born in Rutherfordton, NC, she was a daughter of the late Dr. William Jason McDaniel, Sr. and Edna Capel McDaniel.

Pat received a BA in Math from Queens University of Charlotte. Following her graduation she joined the gas turbine business of GE as a Computer Programmer. She also taught math at several different middle and high schools. Her greatest passion was in the rearing of her daughters. She relished being a full time wife, mother and grandmother. Favorite past times were spent traveling, going to the beach or a good game of bridge. She was an active member of PEO. Pat was a longtime, faithful member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 51 years, H. Blair Daugherty of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Tricia and Brian Severa of Durham, NC, Sarah and James Nolfo of Raleigh, NC and Kristen and Mark Ellis of Charlotte, NC; her brother, Dr. W. Jason McDaniel, Jr. and wife, Craig of Raleigh, NC; and her adored grandchildren, Maddie, Jackson and Joshua Ellis, Kayla, Matt, Katie and Andrew Nolfo, and Isabel Severa.

The funeral service will be Thursday, July 30 at 1:00 o’clock pm at First Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Graceland East Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5 to 7:00pm at The Mackey Mortuary.
