Noel E. Walton

Noel was born in Logansport, Indiana to James Walton & Wilma N. Walton on May 8, 1938. He had an esteemed career serving our country in both the military as well as contracting officer positions for the government. Noel was a Major in the United States Air Force, served in both the Army and Air Force National Guard, and finished his career as a contracting officer for General Services Administration. Noel was a founder of Maranatha Christian Academy in Fajardo, Puerto Rico.

Noel attended Killian Hill Baptist Church in Lilburn, GA for 38 years. Noel has been a member of Morningside Baptist Church since his move to Greenville, SC in 2022.

Noel is survived by his wife, Lynda Johnson Walton, as well as his children Scott Walton (Betty); Sheryl Walton Arthurs (Christopher); Sue Morales (Rafy). His grandchildren Rachel Arthurs Lambert (Chris) and family; Christopher Arthurs (Jaimee) and family; Rachel Merrick Courington & family; Mark Merrick & family; Becki Merrick & family; Kenny Merrick & family; & Brandon Morales. He was also survived by nieces and nephews as well as his sister in law Sharon Walton.

Services for Noel will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 in the Chapel at Morningside Baptist Church, 1115 Pelham Rd, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and the funeral at 1:30 PM followed by a private burial.
