Melrose loved her role as a teacher and devoted 39 years of her life to the profession. A dedicated Christian, she was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church where she had a passion for singing in the choir, attending Sunday school, witnessing and blessing others.
Melrose also enjoyed singing and dancing with the Senior Follies and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, David "Scott" (Linda) Sentell, of Pickens, SC; daughter-in-law, Susan Sentell, of GA; granddaughters, Stephanie (Katlin) Owen, of Pickens, SC, Lauren (Lewis) Crider, of GA, Amanda Brown of Greer, SC; grandson, Christopher (Emily) Sentell, of Lakeland, FL; and great grandchildren, Abbott D. Owen, Clyde T. Owen, and Aspen L. Sentell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Sentell, and son, Jeffrey D. Sentell.
A graveside service for Melrose will be held Monday, July 1, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital.
