She attended Winthrop University before moving to Greenville where she would meet and marry the love of her life, Bo, and make their home. She was a loving follower of Jesus Christ, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She made her home the heart of her family where you could always feel love, comfort and a place to rest. Her days were spent in constant prayer for her family and others. Her one desire was for everyone to know that a relationship with Jesus will change your life forever. This life is temporary, but heaven is eternal. She also enjoyed being outside in her yard, cheering on her Clemson Tigers and most especially serving and being with her family. She was a member of Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children Elizabeth Thrailkill Palmer (Dave), Nancy Thrailkill Bruce and James Andrew Thrailkill (Jeannie); grandchildren Ashleigh Ivey (Chuck), Jim Palmer (LeeAnn), Brooke Moore (David), Caroline Brewer (Zach), Laura Light (Harrison) and great grandchildren; Mary Peden, Lilly, Nora, Aubri, McKenna, Bryce, Charlie, Madison, Mason, Colt, Forrest, Emma, Kate, Calla, and Claire.
She is also survived by her sisters Carolyn Mason Wilborn and Betty Mason Moore and four nieces.
Martha is predeceased by her husband James Andrew Thrailkill, Sr. and grandson James Andrew Thrailkill III; sisters Virginia Mason Harbin, Frances Mason Dillard, Dot Mason Kellett and brother Thomas Radford Mason, Jr.
Services for Martha will be held Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Eastside Presbyterian Church, 830 Garlington Rd, Greenville, SC 29615. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The family has requested that guests attending the services dress in casual attire. Burial will be at Graceland East Memorial Park, 2206 Woodruff Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29681 following the funeral.
Memorials may be made on behalf of Martha to the Hospice House of the Foothills or In Touch Ministries.
