Marie Leona Webb Eckhoff, 94, passed away in her home at Lyman Lake in Lyman, SC on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Marie was born in Orlando, FL and grew up in Anniston, AL. She was the daughter of the late Arlon James and Dula Webb.
She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. As a military wife she spent years traveling with her husband and family. Marie made many lasting friendships along the way. She was full of compassion and cared for her friends as if they were family. She was an active member of The Retired Officers Wives Club of Greenville and enjoyed her time at Senior Action of Greenville. Marie loved to shop and spend time with those she loved. She attended Covenant United Methodist Church in Greer, SC. She was a God fearing woman and lived life the way God intended; with a vibrant spirit and a kind soul.
Marie loved her family fiercely. She was preceded in death by her husband, Major William R. Eckhoff. She is survived by her children; Steven Eckhoff, David Eckhoff (Nancy), Charlotte Campbell (Mickey), and Tom Loffman (Debbie). She has 5 grandchildren; Michael Eckhoff (Jodi), Steven Eckhoff, Will Eckhoff (Monica), Michelle Mathis (John), and Daniel Phillips. Marie has 4 great grandchildren; Cullen Eckhoff, Mai Phillips, Amari Phillips, and Sterling Mathis. She was also blessed to have two surviving brothers; Richard Webb (Linda) and Wallace Webb (Jo), of Greenville.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1:00PM at Covenant United Methodist Church, 1310 Old Spartanburg Road Greer, SC 29650. Memorials may be made to Covenant United Methodist Church Finance Department.
