“Marge” was born and raised in Oswego, New York. Her parents were Nelson and Charlotte Mansfield. After graduation from Rochester Business School, she was a secretary in the department of Entomology at Cornell University. It was there that she met and later married her beloved husband Robert Treece in 1955.
She and Bob moved to Wooster, Ohio where he was a Professor of Entomology at the OARDC. She made many friends through volunteering for Viola Thorne and The Wooster Symphony. Marge loved dancing and playing bridge which she and Bob did regularly.
In 2015 Bob and Marge moved to Greenville, South Carolina to be closer to family. She was predeceased by her husband Bob, and her son Tom. She is survived by her daughter Diane Leshman (Jeffrey) and her son Jay Treece (Karen). In addition, she leaves behind two grandchildren Rebecca Payne (Michael) and Daniel Leshman, as well as three great-grandchildren, Austin Payne, Morgan Payne, and Nolan Payne.
Marge’s family will hold a private celebration of life in South Carolina.
