Larry was born the youngest of three sons to Edgar and Mary (née Lowdenslager) Murphy on February 17, 1933, in Mt. Healthy, Ohio. He was involved in youth group as a teen and met his first wife, Peggy Lorraine (née Whisman) Murphy at a Methodist youth camp. They were married in 1953 and had a loving marriage for 52 years until her death in 2005. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BA in Commerce and was employed by W.R. Grace for many years.
Larry was blessed by a large and loving family. He and Peggy raised their five children in a loving Christian home. After the death of Peggy, he met Sadie Marie Murphy at church, and they were married September 2, 2012.
Larry was known by all as a kind, gentle and loving man. He made it his mission in life to spread the love of Jesus to every person he met, friend and stranger alike. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is now at peace with Jesus.
Larry is survived by his wife Sadie, his son Randy Murphy, his daughters Colleen Lindsay, Shari Wing, Barbara Dennis, Sue Umezaki, and their spouses; his fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
