Kristine Louise Coyne Nov. 3, 1945 – May 23, 2015 After a six-year battle with breast cancer, Kristine Coyne passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Glenn Hershberger, and her husband, Robert Coyne. She is survived by brother, Doug Hershberger (Ellen), sister, Leslie Clary (Jai and Zeke), son, Andy Coyne (Jodi), daughter, Aimee Coyne Lakotas (John), grandchildren, Ellis Coyne, Jackson Lakotas, Colt Lakotas, significant other, Frank Gamble and countless friends, former students, extended family, and loved ones. She was an avid traveler, reader, and Ohio sports fan (Go Buckeyes, Indians, Browns and Cavs). She loved her family, friends, nature, learning and teaching, music, journaling, movies, the beach, Jackson Hole, and a good gin and tonic. She played many roles, but her greatest by far was as “Grammy.” She had love, magic and adventure in her life. A memorial service will be held in Columbus, OH on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Updates on location and time will be posted on her caringbridge.org page. Although she fought cancer herself, her biggest concern was seeing children face the battle. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her name. “It’s not the years in your life that count but the life in your years.”
