She was born in Westfield, NY while her dad was pastoring there.
The family moved to Greenville, SC, in 1972 where her parents served on the staff at Bob Jones University. Kim graduated from Bob Jones Academy in 1984 and Bob Jones University in 1989 with a degree in German Education. After graduation she lived in Hamburg, Germany, for a year and then came back to Greenville to teach at BJA. In addition to teaching German, English, Speech, and several other courses for 25 years, she was involved in many extracurricular activities, and had a strong impact on her students.
She made many mission and personal trips to Germany over the years and was very familiar with the culture and language of the country. Kim was an active member at Hampton Park Baptist Church in Greenville.
She is survived by her parents Bud and Joyce Bierman; her sister Krista Miller (Bobby) of Greer SC; her brother Bob Bierman of New York City; her sister Karin Bierman of Dallas, TX; and her nephew and niece Conner and Emilie “Cookie” Miller; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and their families.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, February 3 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary.
The funeral service will be Thursday morning, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Hampton Park Baptist Church with Dr. Drew Conley officiating.
A private committal will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bob Jones Academy Advancement Program (AAP) or to the Hampton Park Baptist Church Mission Fund.
