Kenneth Wayne Banks

Kenneth Wayne Banks, age 72, of Greenville, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Ken was born in Greenville, SC to the late Lawrence (Jack) Cleveland Banks and Jennie Vee Hogg Banks.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Banks, daughter, Mandy Banks Wardlaw (Denver), and Scott Banks (Amanda). He will also be missed by step-children: Todd Matlock, (Dena Helton Matlock), Jayson Matlock (Suze), and Kelley Matlock Persons (Brian); Granddaddy is greatly loved by 10 grandchildren: Abby Grace Wardlaw, Samuel Wardlaw, Titus Wardlaw, Levi Wardlaw, Addison Banks, Harper Banks, Briana Matlock Waddle, Chloe Matlock Daniel Matlock, and Alex Persons.

Kenneth was born and raised in Greenville, SC, where he raised his family and, successfully, grew a business, started by his father, Jack, many years ago, He was owner of Banks Appliance Sales and Service, with his son, Scott, in Greenville. Known as Kenneth, Kenny, Kenny B, Mr. Kenny, Ken, Dad, Granddaddy, Poppy, or Papa Banks; he was the same loving person, whatever his name.

Ken was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church where he taught the Boys Club. His Bible lessons came alive, with his storytelling way of making the boys understand and interested in learning.

A funeral service will held Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609 followed by a graveside service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM.
