June Slater, age 87, widow of the late Kenneth Slater, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018.
Born in Wilkes Barre, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Olga Horutz Regula. Mrs. Slater was a retired LPN with St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, NJ and was a member of Port Charlotte United Methodist Church. June was known for her beautiful blue eyes and radiant smile. She loved people and shared her joy of music and dancing with all. June enjoyed her 20 years of nursing in the maternity ward of the hospital. She will be missed by her family and friends who loved her.
Mrs. Slater is survived by her daughter, Linda Govreau (Thomas); her son, William Bono (Marianne); four grandchildren, John Bono, Daniel Bono, Laura Bono, and Kevin Bono; and six great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, James Bono; and her brother, Frank Regula.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
