Jo Ann Adams Gressette

Jo Ann was born on July 22nd in Hodge, LA to Valrus Guy and Nancy Smith Adams. She was married to Jake on January 26, 1958. As the wife of a pulp and paper engineer, she lived in many small towns in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and finally settled in Greenville, SC.

A longtime member of Edwards Road Baptist Church, Jo Ann was active in the Stroup-Rincon Class. She enjoyed serving as a grade shepherd for the Good News Club. An avid bridge player, she enjoyed many an afternoon playing cards with her friends. Jo Ann was known for her quick wit, her love of family and friends and her wonderful cooking. She shared her dishes and recipes with many.

Jo Ann was a lovely Christian wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Jake Gressette; daughters, Nancy (Barney) Corbett and Lee Ann (Glenn) Cowart; and 4 grandsons, John Kenyon and Samuel Glenn Cowart and Thomas Clifford and William Joseph Corbett.

A Celebration Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:00pm at Edwards Road Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 12:30pm – 1:45pm at the church. The Stroup-Rincon Class will be seated together.
