She was born and raised on a farm on the banks of the Cumberland River in Tiline Kentucky and lived most of her adult life in Carrollton, Georgia, before moving to Greenville, SC in 2021.
A member of Carrollton First Baptist Church and the PEO sisterhood, she also enjoyed gardening, Bridge and traveling with her husband.
After graduating from Murray State University, she taught Home Economics for several years before spending the rest of her adult life as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Donald Baker; children Elecia (Russell) dela Peña, Evan (Julie) Baker and grandchildren Emma & Ben dela Peña, Allie, Lauren and Molly Kate Baker.
Janelle was predeceased by her parents and grandparents.
A visitation for Janelle will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC 29609. A private committal service will be held at a later date at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC.
