Jim was born in Charleston, South Carolina to the late James Philip Condon and Margaret Keirn Condon.
Jim was the calm in the middle of our everyday life. His smiling presence was steadfast, constant and soothing to the people around him.
He loved people, He loved Jesus and He loved Paula. Oh, and books. He really loved a good book!
We, as his family, could depend on his gentle but truthful perspective and wisdom in troubled times. We have learned how invaluable his optimism and kindness were toward us as we never once imagined life without him.
Jim and Paula were very involved with Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child and have helped to spread the gospel of Jesus to thousands of children over the world for many years.
They have strengthened the saints locally by offering Godly counsel to young couples preparing for marriage, and they walked this out by example.
Jim loved his family and wore his title of G-pa to his grandchildren with joyful pride. He drove them everywhere and all around, having adventures all over the state and into several other states too.
Jim poured his life into people with tireless love and compassion. We rejoice in the fact that he is with Jesus, and thankful for his example of showing the love of Jesus to others. He lived in this world with eternity in the next world always in mind. We will be happy to follow his example, and are very grateful to have had him as our father, g-pa, husband and friend.
Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Paula Hester Condon; his daughter Allison Condon Nix; and his son James Michael Condon (Diane); his brother Patrick L. Condon; his grandchildren James "Jamie" Michael Condon, II, Grayson Kent Evatt and Helena Elise Condon.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Michael Condon.
