Emilie Feldmeier Ritz

She was born May 16, 1933 in Uttenhofen, Bavaria, Germany to the late Jakob Feldmeier and Maria Grill Feldmeier.

Emilie immigrated to the US in 1956 and was a long time resident of Pompano Beach, FL. She was the founder and co-owner of Ritz Safety Equipment, Inc. of Pompano Beach. She had been a resident of Possum Kingdom, SC since 2011.

Emilie enjoyed making ceramics, cooking, decorating her home, traveling and dancing. She also enjoyed buying and selling real estate.

Emilie was married to the late Jerry Ritz and is survived by two sons, Karl Eric Merkl and Peter Merkl, both of Florida, and daughter Rosemary Hawthorne of Possum Kingdom, SC. In addition, she is survived by three grandchildren, Olivia Merkl, and Joshua and Jacob Hawthorne, and numerous nieces and nephews.

South Carolina services: For family and friends will be Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at Riverside Baptist Church, 1339 Holliday Dam Rd, Belton, SC 29627. Receiving of friends will take place at 2 p.m. with service beginning at 3:00 p.m.

Florida service: For family and friends will be Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Kraeer Funeral Home & Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 200 W. Copans Road, Pompano Beach, FL. Receiving of friends will be at 11:30 a.m. followed by the eulogy at 12:30 and burial at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Emilie's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
