Gregoire, au revoir mon ami.  
It’s impossible to think of Greensburg or high school without thinking of Greg.  Even now, in the sadness of his passing, I smile as I recall some of our many adventures and misadventures.  A truer friend there never was.  More like a brother. Ringo, Darlene, Christy, and Suzie; my heartfelt sorrow and prayers go out to you and your families in your time of mourning.  May God be with you in this difficult time.


Greg was a fine young man, a honorable member of our family and he will be missed.  He was a small guy who quietly helped a lot of people enjoy life.  His mother is the surviving sibling of my late mother,  and I wish there was a way to comfort her aching heart.

Classmate, co-worker, friend, "brother from another mother;" Greg and I enjoyed some lively times together.  He was generally the smartest person in the room, but would never point out that fact; a renaissance gentleman--scholar, artist, historian--a steady and reliable asset to any community; always ready to help with any project. "This story shall the good man teach his son..."  (Henry V) He also had such an outstanding sense of humor! I learned a lot from you, my friend! I 'll be telling stories about our adventures for a long, long time. Leon & Darlene--my prayers are with you and the girls; thanks for always welcoming me as one of the family!

I regard the days in High School and College when I was your main means of transportation with enjoyment and fulfilling conversation.  If you weren't with me, driving to Indy to see a movie or traveling back and forth to Bloomington, life would have been a much more lonely place.  You always regarded yourself, as long as I knew you as the "GM Mark of Excellence" and indeed you were and still are.  A prayer for you and your family will always be in my heart.

  Trying to think of one memory to share of Greg is almost impossible.  I worked with Greg at the Library for about five years.   Greg was typically  a quite guy until he became more comfortable around you.  He was a hard worker and was quick to offer a joke, an opinion, an interesting tidbit, or a hand.
  I remember his excitement when King Tut came to Cincinnati in the early 2000's.  He talked about it for days!  His love of history was evident in every day conversation and in the arrowheads he found (and made!).
  The winter I was pregnant with my older child, Greg made sure to have the lot, ramp, and stairs cleaned and salted before I arrived.  One day it began snowing while we were at work.  He took care of the lot and then shoveled and salted a path to my car.  Just mine.  Not even to the director's car!  He then stayed at work until I left so he could make sure I got safely inside the car.
  Even though I hadn't seen Greg since 2012, we kept in touch through facebook.  My daughter (the one who warranted the special treatment) is thirteen now and she remembers Greg fondly.  "He was always so nice!  He liked to pick me up and he was so tall!"
  Guys like Greg don't come along very often.  I'm so glad I - WE - had the chance to know him. 

The Bill and Gerry Buchanan family are so very sad for you today. We love you.

I cannot put into words the loss I feel at Greg's passing. He was such a dear, dear friend. We often ran into each other at Walmart and laughed at how we would be there at the same times.  He was very involved in the history of the community and we shared that interest.  We met at cemeteries and enjoyed photographing and recording records on-line.  His dedication and hard work will give information to many an amateur genealogist looking for clues to the past. Just know that Greg was special and very much loved and will be missed by many and his work will live on. The Meyer line has lost another cousin.

I am so saddened by Greg's passing. He has been a dear friend from the day I started working at the Library.  He was such a big part of our library family. We knew we could count on him to do whatever was needed, although he would grumble a bit, first. It was that gruff exterior that hid a heart of gold. He will be missed more than I can possibly express.  I can't imagine your sorrow. Please know that I will be keeping you all in my thoughts and sending prayers for peace and understanding through this difficult time.
