Elizabeth Ann Roemer Johnston

Elizabeth Ann Roemer Johnston, 92, of Greensburg passed away on March 19, 2015. She was born in Lucerne, Indiana, December 27, 1922 to Lena Brenkle and Carl Roemer as the middle child of eight children. Elizabeth graduated from Lucerne High School in 1940. She married Ross Slade Johnston on June 19th, 1954. Elizabeth was an expert floral designer working her way up from her Aunt’s floral shop to owning with her husband, the Johnston Floral Company, in Greensburg until she retired in 2009. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was also a former Girl Scout Leader. She spent many years donating flowers and decorating her church providing many blessings for her and others.

Survivors include: Daughter- Carol Johnston of Columbus, Son- Ross L. Johnston of Greensburg, Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: her Parents, Husband, and Siblings.

A Rosary will be prayed on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 4:00 pm followed by visitation until 7:00 pm. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a visitation one hour before the service. Father John Meyer will be officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Mary’s Church. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.gilliland-howe.com.
