He was born in the Grassy Creek township in the mountains of NC, June 17, 1934 to Nathan McKinley Riddle and Elizabeth Jane Davenport Riddle.
He retired with over 30 years of service as a diesel mechanic with Martin Marietta in Greensboro. He was an avid Bluegrass music lover, and played the banjo and guitar beginning as a small child.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 48 years, Betty Jean Riddle, and numerous brothers and sisters.
Surviving family members are his son, Stan W. Riddle, and his granddaughter, Lindsay M. Riddle. Siblings, Nathan Riddle Jr. of Weyers Cave, VA, Johnny Riddle (Barbara) of Greensboro and Joyce Poteat of Marion.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11 am for family and friends at Hanes-Lineberry/ Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 W. Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC.
