Vina Louise Brown Chandler, 95, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Saturday March 4, 2023. She was born December 8, 1927 in Moore County, the daughter of Benjamin Harrison and Margarette Emily Cagle Brown.
Vina was a graduate of Rankin High School and attended McClung Business College. An accountant, she was worked with H&R Block for 31 years where she was a supervisor. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.
She was married to James Harrell Chandler, Sr. who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, James Harrell Chandler, Jr.; her daughter, Sandra Chandler Ingold and siblings; Estelle Ham, Mildred Carter, Maggie Payne, Edith Coble, Robert H. Brown, W.R. Brown, Linton Brown, Clinton Brown, Welford “Bill” Brown, Frankie Brown, John Brown and Robert Brown.
Surviving are her granddaughter, Stephanie Ingold Flippin and husband Darren of Greensboro; great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Allison Flippin; son-in-law, John Ingold of Greensboro and half-sister, Kaye Hunkins of Greensboro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Graveside services will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Hanes-Linesberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Assocation 4600 Park Road Suite 250 Charlotte, NC 28209 or to the Brenner’s Children’s Hospital in Winston-Salem.
