Tommy was a guy that everyone liked; Joyce was the winner, married for 62 years. In high school, he loved to play baseball. In his senior year, he was voted the Most Valuable Player.
He had a Daisy BB gun collection like no other. He loved to share stories about his BB gun collection. He was also known as “Mr. Fixit” for a lot of young men and some not so young.
He enjoyed being a member of the Civil War Reenactments for a short time, and playing golf for a long time. He also had a ball when he and other friends were at the car races.
He loved driving around in his 1957 red Chevrolet convertible, but most of all, he loved his three children, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Tommy was a pipefitter for 30 years and a farmer for 33 years, enjoying his farm, cows, and all the hard work that goes with it.
Tommy was sick for some time, but he never lost his sense of humor or the twinkle in his eyes. Dear Tommy, go rest high on the mountain, your family loves you, and you will be forever in their hearts.
Tommy is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Worth Oliver, Sr. and Nina Jessup Oliver; son, William Lawrence (Billy) Oliver; and sisters, Doris O. Patterson and Jane O. Phillips.
