The funeral service will be held at eleven o’clock on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8934 W Market Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27235. William Greene, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens.
Tom was born on August 3rd, 1932 in Plano, Texas to the late George Ezra and Patricia Pauline Philpott Frizzell. He served in the U. S. Army, stationed in Anchorage, Alaska during the Korean War where he joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Brigham Young University. He worked with Utah-Idaho Sugar and later relocated to North Carolina where he worked with MillerCoors in the canning division. Tom was an avid genealogist, and with his wife, Thella, served in many capacities in the church, including twenty-two years as LDS Temple workers. Family was very important in his life, enjoying outdoor activities, sports, and motorcycling with them.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy; brother, George and his two sisters, Patricia and Nancy Mae.
Survivors include his wife, Thella Hamlin Frizzell; children, Kathleen and husband, Allan Hess; Michael and wife, Holly Christenson Frizzell; Dana and wife, Victoria Stephens Frizzell; Terry and wife, Anita Atencio Frizzell; Lisa and husband, Gary Kennedy; Richard and wife, Rebecca Conrad Frizzell; twenty-five grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
