Stella will be remembered for her quick wit and outgoing and adventurous spirit. She loved life and was always ready for the next big exploit. It’s said she always kept a bag packed just in case. Motorcycles and traveling were two of her favorite activities and she and husband Roy Lee Staley loved to ride through Tennessee, Virginia and North Carolina. In 2008, she rode in the Rolling Thunder Memorial Day motorcycle rally. Stella was a familiar face as she traveled the world with Holiday Tours and Myrtle Beach was a favorite family Christmas destination. She could stay up all night playing cards and when the sun came up, would make everyone biscuits and gravy. When a family member was sick it was Stella who would sit by their bedside looking after them. Many wonderful memories were made in the company of her family. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Stella worshipped at Sumner Baptist Church where she was active in Busin’ Buddies and Community Baptist Church. For 19 years she worked as a machine operator at Olympic Products.
She was most proud of her two sons, Randy Staley and Larry Staley (Dee Dee) of Pleasant Garden. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Selena (Andy) Smith and Brad Staley; three great grandchildren, Sawyer and Wesley Smith and Zalie Parrish; sister, Peggy Flynn of East Bend and several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her siblings, Edith (Tommy) Swaim, Margaret (Roby) Swaim, Odell (Annie) Ireland, Herman (Betty) Ireland, Tony Ireland and Ray Ireland.
