Greensboro- Mrs. Ruth Allie Reynolds White joined her beloved heavenly father on Friday, October 8, 2010 at Camden Place in Greensboro, NC.
A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held today, Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church, followed by a visitation with the family members. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
The fourth of five children, Ruth R. White was born on November 10, 1923 in Jefferson, NC to the late Reverend Joseph Letcher and Sue Mackey Reynolds and was raised in the Asheville area. She graduated from Enka High School in Enka, NC and Biltmore College in Asheville, NC. She enjoyed a long life as a loving homemaker, wife and mother.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by a brother John M. Reynolds and sisters Helen R. Lollis, Sara R. Beatty and Lucille R. Sherrill.
Ruth Allie Reynolds White is survived by her husband of 61 years Robert “Bob” Boothe White along with two children, son Robert Reynolds White, CPA and wife Anne Goff White of Kernersville, NC and daughter the Honorable Judge Mary W. Sheffield Wray and husband Dr. Warren Kent Wray and three lovely grandchildren Jennifer, Katherine and Christopher Sheffield, all of Rolla MO. Mrs. White is also survived by a brother, Joseph C. Reynolds and wife Jane Clark Reynolds of Asheville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2300 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405 or Centenary United Methodist Church, 2300 West Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403 or to the Charity of the donor’s choice.
