Robert Lee Turner

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Burlington, NC to the late Wadell and Onie Turner on February 9, 1940, Robert was of the Baptist faith. He retired from M. H. Greentree Meat Company in New York, after 28+ years of employment. Robert was an avid New York Giants and New York Knicks fan. He enjoyed walking and making new friends wherever he went. Robert was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend who was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Fields.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Agnes Warren Turner; children, Mark Turner of NY, Sherie Atkinson and her husband Gregory of NJ, and Tammi Baker and her husband Devon of Greensboro; sister, Shirley Stokes of Graham, NC; five grandchildren, Makiyn Turner, Jelani Turner, Tareek Turner, Isaiah Jackson, and Donte Jackson; great-grandson, Makiyn Robert Turner; and other extended family.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Maple Grove Rehab Center for their unwavering care they gave Robert during his four years of residency there.
