Bekki was born November 30, 1954, in Hickory, NC.
She was predeceased by her parents, Luther Fox Brown, Jr., Joyce Moser Brown, and her brother, Patrick Claude Brown
Bekki is survived by her brothers, Rick (Penny) Brown of Greensboro, NC and Michael (Becky) Brown of Graham, NC, as well as nephews Staley (Kaleigh) Brown of Kannapolis, NC, Matthew (Leigh) Brown of Matthews and Grady Brown of Schonach, Germany.
Bekki established The Glen Hampton House on State Street which was a highly regarded hair design studio for 30 years. She was recognized as an exceptional hair designer who was a conjurer of beautiful splendors in the fine art of coiffure – filigreed throughout. As a certified instructor she taught many others. Bekki served as a volunteer for many years with Triad Health Project and cut the hair of a multitude of AIDS patients both while living and upon their deaths.
Becky traveled extensively, having lived for a few years in Ocracoke, NC, and a few years in St. Croix, VI. She spent much time working throughout the Caribbean. Bekki also lived for a while in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, where she fell in love with Zydeco music and all things Cajun. She was also at home in the American Southwest as she made many excursions to New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, and California.
A memorial service will be scheduled at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Greensboro in the near future.
