Mr. Wells is survived by his two brothers, Melvin Wells and Harold Wells of Martinsville, Virginia. He is also survived by his wife Ruth, his three daughters Leigh Seager and husband Carl, Barbara Brazer and husband Scott, and Mary Britt as well as four grandchildren Stephen Britt, Brandon Britt, Katherine Brazer, and Robert Brazer.
Dudley fought in France for the U.S. Army during World War II. After thirty years of service in the Army Reserves he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, Quartermaster Corps. He was also employed by Kroger Corporation for thirty-five years. He and his wife designed and built many lovely homes along local golf courses and lakes. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, golf, and traveling. He loved his family, his dogs, and his many friends. He remained committed to Christ throughout his life.
The family would like to thank the loving caring staff of Parkwood Retirement Community in Elkin, North Carolina and Carriage House Senior Living Community in Greensboro, North Carolina. We wish to also thank the physicians at Piedmont Senior Care, Guilford Neurology, Greensboro Ophthalmologist, LeBauer Gastroenterology, Greensboro Ear, Nose and Throat, Norman Dental and the nurses and physicians on third floor west of Wesley Long Hospital.
A family service will be held by the grave site in Martinsville, Virginia.
