Peggy Ann Honeycutt Michael, 84, died Friday, January 30, 2016 at Moses Cone Hospital with her family by her side. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield chapel prior to the graveside service.
Peggy was born in Wake County to the late Kenneth and Belle Young Honeycutt. With her beautiful smile and personality she caught the attention of George Michael, who she married in 1948 and together they raised four children. She was a supportive wife and loving mother, who showed her devotion to her family by keeping a comfortable and Christian home. She always loved to have a hot meal cooked and ready. Peggy was happiest at home but when she did get away she loved to spend time at the beach with George. They were long time members of 1st Pilgrim Holiness Church which later became Christ Wesleyan Church where she participated in the McCluskey Bible class. Her well-worn Bible will be a reminder of her constant desire for a strong relationship with her Savior and she leaves behind a legacy of love for her family, hard work and strong faith.
She is survived by her husband, George Michael of the home; children and their spouses, Terry Michael of Greensboro, James (Lisa) Michael of Wilmington, and Donna (Ron) Johnson of Greensboro; and grandchildren, Hannah, Sonya and George Michael. She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Michael and two grandsons, John and Joshua Michael.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Christ Wesleyan Church, 2400 S Holden Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407. On line condolences may be made to www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
