Odis Glenn Shaw

Odis Glenn Shaw of Greensboro went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the age of 83. He went peacefully in his home of 50 years. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be at 2 PM, Monday, September 14 at Guilford Memorial Park officiated by Reverend Ray Calhoun. The family will receive friends beginning at 1230 PM prior to the service at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.

Odis was the owner of Shaw & Sons Siding until he retired in the late 1980’s. He loved his family dearly and always wanted his family together and they were. He never knew a stranger and always welcomed all. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed NASCAR, surf fishing, playing cards, Yahtzee with his family and all family events.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Zena and father, John Gilmer Shaw of King, NC; brothers, Galon, Larry, Don and Perry Shaw; sisters, Bonnie Robertson, Talley Sue Riggins, Betty Matthews and Judy Mabe and great granddaughter, Gwendolyn Rose Campos.

Odis leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years Rilla Avoline Marshall Shaw of the home; sons, Jim and Anne Shaw of High Point, NC, Dean Shaw of Greensboro, NC, Tony and Tonya Shaw of Greensboro, NC and Joey and Stephanie Stone of Julian, NC; daughters, Kathy and Mike Greene of McLeansville, NC, Scarlette and Johnny Grubbs of Climax, NC and Teresa and Donald Rogers of Trinity, NC; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother, Gary and Sandra Shaw of King, NC; sisters, Karen and Larry Clauer of King, NC, Linda and Roger Beshears of Winston-Salem, Glenda and Greg Stabler of Welcome, NC, Wanda and Billy Cotner of King and Donna Shaw of King.

The family would like to thank Hospice and his nurse, Tonya for the wonderful care and consideration they have shown.
