A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel, with Pastor Jay Bowers officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Troy was born in Ft. Worth, Texas but grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended St. Charles West High School and the University of Missouri-St. Louis and was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He has lived in Greensboro for the past 25 years, graduating from UNC-Greensboro and considered Greensboro his home. He loved North Carolina. Troy was an avid sports fan and a natural athlete but, his greatest love was his family! Meeting and marrying Amanda brought him so much happiness and theirs was a great love story. The children he dearly loved, made everything complete. Troy loved his life! He will be forever remembered as a wonderful husband, dad, son, great friend,a loving, caring, and kind man. Troy is preceded in death by his brother, Ryan Leach.
Those left to cherish his memory include his adoring wife, Amanda Brooks Leach; daughter, Riley Oates; son, Camden Oates; mother, Janet Ersoy (Tan), father, Mike Leach (Kathy), grandmothers, Dorothy MacDonald and Joyce Howell; father-in-law, Bill Brooks; step-siblings, Melissa Stentz, Suzan Free, Neill Simakas, Paul Bullard, and Robin Stanfield; sister-in-law, Anna Leach; nieces, Parker and Caroline Leach; other nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other extended family.
