She was born in Summers County West Virginia on March 26, 1949 a daughter to the late Robert Carl Zickafoose and Lela Gwinn Zickafoose. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior Zickafoose, Julian Zickafoose, Ernest Zickafoose and Lenzy Zickafoose; sister, Helen Harless; and brother in law, William Hicks.
Surviving are David Hicks husband of 55 years; daughter, Denise Hicks; sister, Mildred Pomroy; special nieces, Beverly Ballange and Teresa Matthews; several nieces and nephews; sister in law Ann Cales and husband Nilon.
The family would like to make acknowledgement of the great care from the nurses, doctors, dieticians, and all supporting staff of Moses Cone Hospital.
A Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday July 31, 2024 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Westminster Gardens Cemetery.
