Mrs. Mary F. DeBerry, 82, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Beacon Place. Mary was born November 9, 1931 in Raleigh, the daughter of R.D. Fuller and Lula Dillard Fuller. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1950.
Mary Graduated from St. Mary’s College in Raleigh and worked briefly with Pan American at Cape Canaveral, then after becoming a homemaker.
Mary loved spending time at the beach, attending North Carolina football and basketball games, gardening, working in her yard, shopping, enjoying 46 years with her bridge club and 20 years with her tennis group. Both groups have now turned into monthly luncheon gatherings.
Her favorite passion was spending time with her three daughters and two granddaughters. She loved shopping with and for them. She also enjoyed many years of going on cruises and traveling all around the world with her husband, friends and children.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her. She will be missed by all.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 60 years, Howell; daughters, Libby Rymer and husband Jack of Greensboro, Shannon McMillan and husband Greg of Oak Ridge, Sandy Wilson and husband Michael of Greensboro and her two granddaughters, Becky Rymer and Alexis Wilson of Greensboro.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Long Hospital and the staff at Beacon Place for taking such wonderful care of Mary.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Centenary United Methodist Church, 2300 W. Friendly Ave., Greensboro, NC 27403 with Reverend Kelley Groce officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Centenary United Methodist Church on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Mary’s memory to Centenary United Methodist Church.
