Mary Lou Monnett Davis

Mary Lou Monnett Davis, age 93, passed away at her home on Monday, December 5, 2022. She was the daughter of Guy and Hazel Monnett of Greensboro, NC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband William Meyers Davis and son Billy. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Guy Monnett. Her surviving son Doug is from Greensboro. Her surviving sisters are Jean Monnett Ross of Graham and Barbara Monnett Hemrick of Atlanta, Georgia. Linda Euliss was like a daughter to Mary and “Grandma Nana Lou” to Rylan, Brynn, Madden and Charli.

Mary leaves a large extended family that loved her and were given a legacy of family traditions including huge dinners for the holidays and a treasured annual Easter Egg hunt.

Mary Lou was a bookkeeper for her father’s business, Monnett Carpet and Draperies for over 40 years. She was an avid gardener, crafter, organizer, decorator, cake baker and hostess. Mary Lou gave every task her detailed attention and was known for her incredibly beautiful yard and home.

She was a member of St John’s United Methodist Church and served faithfully there through the years.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 1900 Vanstory Street, Greensboro from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. Funeral will be held at 2:00 pm.
