Martha Loper

Martha passed away on October 8, 2024, leaving her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene “Gene”; her daughters, Laura (Klaus) Loper, Sarah (Richie) Matthews and Carrie (Todd) Bryant; grandchildren, Kate (Zoe) Makrigiannis, Tyler Griggs, Kyle Matthews and Nora Bryant; and great-grandson, Khyler Matthews.

Martha loved her family and friends, and especially loved sharing laughter and fun times with them. She had a creative and artistic flair that she passed on to her children, along with handmade clothing and many arts and crafts projects.

A celebration of life will be held at the Chapel in Pennybyrn at 1315 Greensboro Road, High Point, NC 27260 on Friday, November 1 at 2:00pm, followed by light refreshments in the Taylor Village activity room on the first floor. Because Martha enjoyed colorful outfits, attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing in bright colors.

In lieu of funeral flower arrangements, the family requests small potted plants or donations to Jamestown UMC (403 E Main St., Jamestown, NC 27282) or to Maryfield, Inc. with “Employee Appreciation Fund” in the memo (107 Penny Road, High Point, NC).

The family is grateful for the wonderful and caring staff of Taylor Village where Martha and Gene have lived the last 3 years.
